Conservation
In total, Böëna Wilderness Lodgess –Lapa Rios Rainforest Lodge, Pacuare Lodge, Tortuga Lodge, and Monteverde Lodge & Gardens – own and protect more than 800 hectares (1,977 acres) of primary and secondary forest in vulnerable areas near national parks and along vital biological corridors.

Jaguar Project
Since 2009, Böëna Wilderness Lodgess has supported the Jaguar Program through Pacuare Lodge, and more recently through Lapa Rios research actions starting in 2020.

Initiative for Free of Plastic bags and single use plastics
The project was launched precisely with a campaign to eliminate the use of plastic bags in supermarkets and other businesses; cloth and reusable bags were available, so that people could acquire them, both during the event and later in different local businesses.

Public spaces intervention
Through Turrialba Sostenible, we have been able to intervene positively public spaces for entertainment like parks, neighborhoods, streets, and public plazas being able to recover recreational spaces, through planting plants, painting areas, cleaning and collecting waste, waste management educational sessions, responsible consumption sessions, involving local people, and volunteering.
